Equity Analytics Group works with non-profit and community-based organizations to:
Evaluate the alignment between organizational goals and existing services

Design and implement quantitative and qualitative data collection, stewardship, and analysis systems that complement the organization’s resources and needs
Design and implement strategic organizational communication vehicles (annual reports, interactive websites, campaign/program specific information packets, etc.) for a variety of audiences, including board members, government officials, community members, and donors.
Equity Analytics Group has worked with a wide range of nonprofit and community-based organizations at various stages of their development (start-up, established, re-tooling, etc.) through leadership transitions, as they navigated changes in funding landscapes, and through mission evolutions. A key component of our success in this work comes from our deep understanding that the organization’s staff and volunteers are the experts in what they do, and our job is to first listen and learn from them what they need.
We customize our approach to align with the organization’s goals and resources, ensuring that the systems and organizational assets we develop are collaboratively designed and complement existing systems, are sustainable and adaptable, and are mindful of the organization’s capacities and their desired balance between system complexity and efficiency. In addition to ensuring that systems are accessible to the organization’s staff, we also look for opportunities to provide staff with professional development opportunities in becoming fluent with new systems and processes.
Equity Analytics Group is well acquainted with the legal, financial, and procedural requirements that nonprofits operate within, and the range of operational frameworks that influence nonprofit and community-based organizations. We have worked with nonprofits to develop collaborative governance structures, volunteer management systems, mechanisms for community and employee input (including surveys, focus groups, co-design), and uplifting culturally specific practices. We do this work in a way that is informed by an understanding of compliance, fiscal stewardship, and accountability.

Organization & Program Impact Assessment
Nonprofits and small businesses often lack the internal capacity and specialized expertise needed for consistent assessment and transparent reporting, leaving them vulnerable to funding shortfalls, compliance risks, and missed opportunities for improvement. Resource constraints mean staff wear multiple hats, data systems are fragmented, and measurement frameworks are underdeveloped, which makes it difficult to demonstrate impact to donors, investors, regulators, and stakeholders. Clear, timely assessment and standardized reporting not only supports accountability and strategic decision-making but also strengthens credibility and access to funding.

Taking Ownership
Equity Analytics Group worked with Taking Ownership to design systems and implement processes to collect, manage, and analyze data on program impact, cost effectiveness, and community engagement in a way that clearly articulated the organization’s mission and communicated effectively to board members, staff, volunteers, funders, and community members. We then customized these systems to be self-sustaining and accessible to staff, establishing reliable, transparent, accessible data systems that all staff understood and could meaningfully contribute to that provided clear and direct indicators of programmatic impact and efficiency. These metrics have enabled the organization to secure further funding and advance their mission significantly.
PDX Housing Solidarity Project
The PDX Housing Solidarity Project engaged Equity Analytics Group to develop clear and measurable impact measures for their work in wealth redistribution and housing justice. This innovative nonprofit’s unique model required creative approaches to evaluating the variety of mechanisms they utilize to advance reparations and rematriation. Their ability to clearly communicate their core impact has been instrumental in growing their work and engaging with community.
Black Educational Achievement Movement (BEAM)
Equity Analytics Group assisted BEAM with capacity building and the development of assessment strategies through strengthening the internal systems and infrastructure to enhance effectiveness and adapt to the needs of the nonprofit. Working closely with BEAM staff we were able to articulate program outcomes and community impacts in a way that they were able to immediately apply in grant applications for the nonprofit.
